I am excited to introduce our readers to amazing and caring people who live, work, play and do business in our community and city. Learning about people of all lifestyles, talents, and personalities who I think would be interesting for our readers to enjoy. San Diego has a wonderful diversity of individuals that make our slice of paradise the greatest place to live and enjoy each other’s uniqueness.

I have known my friend Sam and his entire supporting family since he was very young. A huge Star Wars and Disneyland lover which he shares with his whole family. Sam knows who he is and explores his goals by being determined and positive. He has no problem fighting the good fight to achieve his goals of self-love and being happy. A man with a vision to help, teach, live by example and inspirer all human beings to be their true selves as they pass their positivity forward to others. It is my pleasure to introduce to you a rising star, Sam Moehlig.

How did you end up in San Diego and what do you love about it?

I was born and raised in San Diego. I love the beaches, especially La Jolla Shores. We are so spoiled living here in California. It is Paradise.

What gets you most excited about life?

What gets me excited most is meeting new people, going on new adventures, exploring more of the world around me right here at home, while seeing, doing, and sharing everything the world has to offer.

In your professional life what makes your business stand out and how has it changed your life?

As an employee I think my place of work stands out because we serve all people of all ages by teaching them the wonderful sport of gymnastics. This sport has changed my life in so many good ways, it is exciting to do the things you love.

In one or two sentences, how would friends describe you?

I have often been described as a kindhearted, and a team player who puts others first. I am honest and always speak from the heart when I tell people how I feel. They also say I am a lot of fun to be around.

What or Who really makes you laugh and why?

My friends and my family make me laugh the most because we have shared so many memories together. I treasure all the memories from my past and look forward to the future ones with them just as much.

Who inspires you in life to do your very best and why?

The biggest inspiration in my life is my Mama. She taught me how to love, breathe, hope, laugh, and so much more. Since I can remember my mom has always taught me to be kind, loving and generous; because of her I feel I have grown into a very promising young man. Thanks Mama. When I look at everything she has done, it makes me so proud that I can brag to the world what an incredible mom I was blessed with. I want to make the world a better place. Knowing what she has taught me helps me be able to create a better world for our youth. My goal is to ensure children out there have lives filled with nothing but joy and happiness, just like mine.

If you could witness any event of the past, present, or future, what would it be and why?

I think I would like to see my own future. I think it would be very interesting to see my growth and what I have accomplished so far with my life, such as my physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Hopefully I have outgrown my own insecurity and stepped into my new level of confidence and pride to carry through the rest of my life. That is my goal and so far, I am moving in the right direction.

If you could give someone advice about your art, hobby, or business, what would you tell them?

Like anything in life, it takes time, I would say from my own personal experience: You are just where you need to be. Love what you do, be patient, always be humble and smell the roses. It isn’t about the destination, it’s about the journey. I took my time doing what I love, and it worked out on its own.

What are your top five values you live by?

1. Health 2. Family 3. Love 4. Laughter 5. Faith

Gratitude is so important in each of our lives, what are you most grateful for, and how do you pay it forward?

I am grateful for every lesson I have learned both the easy and hard ones. I pay that forward by teaching those lessons to the youth I work with. Sharing what I have already learned with our young people, hoping to make their lives easier. It gives me great satisfaction knowing I can help walk them through those lessons so I can help them make better choices in their lives. Like I always say: “look before you leap.”
