A $50,000 warrant for the arrest of Robert Frank Wilson, 40, remains outstanding after he failed to show up in Chula Vista Superior Court to stand trial on a hate crime charge when he allegedly slugged his neighbor while yelling an anti-Gay slur at him.
Judge Peter Deddeh issued the warrant on Aug. 19 when he failed to show up for trial. He had been free on $50,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty.
Wilson has not been in contact with his attorney.
Wilson is from Chula Vista but may no longer live there. The incident took place on Nov. 10, 2021. The victim did not seek any medical attention.
The warrant says Wilson is white, weighs 150 pounds, is 5’6″, with blue eyes, and blond hair.
Wilson was also charged with a misdemeanor sign violation when he and others displayed a large anti-Semitic poster on the fence of an Interstate 805 overpass on Dec. 18, 2021. That charge was dismissed at his preliminary hearing on Feb. 24 when a judge ordered him to stand trial only on the hate crime charge.
