Independent Contractor – Advertising and Sales Representative
Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Advertising and Sales Representative to join our team as an independent contractor. This role will focus on generating advertising sales and building strong relationships with local businesses and organizations. The position is commission-based, offering you the opportunity to earn based on your performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Outreach:
- Identify and prospect potential advertisers aligned with our mission.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
- Present advertising options and customized solutions to meet client needs.
- Client Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for advertisers, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns.

Paid Marketing and Communication Intern
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing and Communication Intern with a true passion for navigating the spectrum of digital and traditional marketing and media communication strategies. This role will primarily focus on managing our social media presence, managing sponsorship agreements, promoting advertiser campaigns, and conveying LGBT news. The intern will assist in the overall success of the organization, including the growth and expansion of the company.

- Duration: Summer 2024, 6 months]
- Hours: 4 hours per week

Social Media Management:
- Develop, curate, and schedule engaging content across all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Monitor social media channels for trending news, audience engagement, and opportunities to increase reach.
- Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in developing and executing social media campaigns to promote our content, events, and initiatives.
Sponsorship Marketing:
- Assist in creating sponsorship proposals and presentations.
- Coordinate with sponsors to ensure deliverables are met and maintain strong, positive relationships.
- Track and report on the performance of sponsorship initiatives.
Advertiser Promotions:
- Work with the sales team to support advertising campaigns and promotions.
- Develop promotional content and materials for advertisers.
- Assist in managing and executing promotional events and activities.
- Analyze and report on the effectiveness of promotional campaigns.
Community Engagement:
- Assist with day-to-day community and fan engagement, page and content moderation, as well as general outreach.
- Assist in monitoring key online conversations and events to make sure brands are participating effectively and are being well-represented.
- Seed approved content and editorial pieces to key influencers and other identified sites and blogs.
Research:
- Assist with basic research as needed to engage the community and investigate any trending activities within the community.
Written Communication:
- Draft social media content, help draft e-newsletters, and other communication based on input from various departments to then be reviewed.
- Collaborate with the entire team to identify potential sponsors and partners aligned with our mission.
Analysis:
- Take data from research and performance analytics to help create reports for our constituents that draw conclusions on performance and provide recommendations for campaign optimization.
Education and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or Journalism.
- Working knowledge of online networks (Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok, Threads, Instagram, YouTube, Google, etc.).
- Advanced skills in Google Drive (Docs, Sheets) Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to learn other software.
- Exceptional writing and grammatical skills with a flair for social media communication.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with shifting priorities.
